Selenium (Se) General Information:
Selenium is a non-metallic element with the chemical symbol Se. It is located in Group VI A (Element No. 34) in the fourth period of the periodic table of chemical elements. Essential nutrients for animals and valuable nutrients for plants. The original element is red or gray powder, metalloid with gray metallic luster. Among the six known solid allotropes, transparent crystals (α monoclinic, β monoclinic, and gray triangular crystals) are the most common. The gray hexagonal crystal system is the most stable and has a density of 4.81g/cm3. It also exists in the form of transparent crystalline solid: the red and black amorphous ones are initially brittle, with a density of 4.26g/cm3; a density of 4.28g/cm3; the other is colloidal silica gel.
