Overview
Physical and chemical properties
Properties: Black cubic crystal. Relative density 6.749. Melting point 1113 ℃.
Soluble in potassium cyanide solution. Hydrogen selenide is released when dissolved in hydrochloric acid. When interacting with sulfuric acid, sulfur dioxide gas is generated. It can be oxidized by nitric acid to copper selenite. It is obtained by heating a stoichiometric mixture of copper and selenium in a vacuum quartz sealed tube or by reducing the ammonia solution of copper salt and selenite by hydrazine hydrate.
Application
Mainly used as a semiconductor. Also used for industrial, chemical experimental research.
