Application
Antimony triselenide is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Sb2Se3. It exists in nature as the sulfide ore selenium antimony, and its crystal structure belongs to the orthorhombic system. In this compound, the oxidation state of antimony is +3 and the oxidation state of selenium is -2, but in fact the bonding in this substance is obviously covalent, causing it to appear black with related materials and also have semiconducting properties.
It can be prepared by the direct reaction of metal antimony and selenium.
