Overview
Physical and chemical properties
Appearance White powder. Insoluble in water, insoluble in acid, soluble in molten potassium hydrogen sulfate or alkali metal carbonate and hydroxide. Melting point: 1485ºC. Relative molecular mass: 265.8098. CAS registration number: 1313-96-8. Density: 4.47g/cm3 (different content and density, subject to actual requirements).
solution: insoluble in water, insoluble in other acids except sulfuric acid and hydrofluoric acid.
Application
Used for pulling nickel niobate single crystal, making special optical glass, high frequency and low frequency capacitors and piezoelectric ceramic components.
It is also used in the production of various niobium alloys for ferroniobium and special steels.
It is the raw material for the preparation of niobium and its compounds. Also used as catalyst, refractory.
