Overview
Chromium Sputtering Targets (Cr) Information
Chromium, English name Chromium, element symbol Cr, belongs to the VIB group metal element in the periodic table of elements, atomic number 24, atomic weight 51.996, density 7.19g/cm³, melting point 1857±20℃, boiling point 2672℃. Body-centered cubic crystals, common valences are +3, +6 and +2, and the ionization energy is 6.766 electron volts. Chromium is a silver-white metal that is extremely hard, brittle, and corrosion-resistant. It is an inactive metal and is stable to oxygen and moisture at room temperature. The content of chromium in the earth's crust is 0.01%, ranking 17th. Free chromium does not exist in nature, and the main chromium-containing ore is chromite.

Chromium targets have a wide range of applications in the automotive industry. To create a shiny coating on wheels and bumpers, chrome targets are great materials. For example, in automotive glass coatings, chromium sputtering targets can also be used;
Chromium has high corrosion resistance, which makes chromium targets suitable for obtaining corrosion-resistant coatings;
In industry, hard material coatings obtained by chromium targets optimally protect engine components (such as piston rings) from premature wear, thus extending the service life of important engine components;
Chromium targets are also used in photovoltaic cell manufacturing and battery manufacturing.
In short, chromium sputtering targets are used in many fields, physically deposited thin films and functional coatings (PVD method) of electronic components, displays and tools; watches, household appliance parts, hydraulic cylinders, slide valves, piston rods, colored glass, Vacuum chrome plating of mirrors, automotive parts and accessories, and other machines and equipment.
