Cobalt Sputtering Targets (Co) Information

Cobalt, element symbol Co, is a silver-white ferromagnetic metal with a silvery-white surface and a slightly pale pink surface. Atomic number 27 and Atomic weight 58.9332. It is a close-packed hexagonal crystal. The common valence is +2 , +3. Cobalt is a shiny steel-gray metal that is relatively hard, brittle, and ferromagnetic.Cobalt is a ferromagnetic metal with a specific gravity of 8.9. The Curie temperature is 1,115°C (2,039°F) and the magnetic moment is 1.6–1.7 Bohr magnetons per atom. Cobalt has a relative permeability two-thirds that of iron.

High purity cobalt target application

Application: Metal cobalt is mainly used to make alloys. It is an important raw material for manufacturing heat-resistant alloys, cemented carbide, anti-corrosion alloys, magnetic alloys and various cobalt salts. It is widely used in aviation, aerospace, electrical appliances, machinery manufacturing, chemical and ceramic industries.

High purity cobalt target materials

Usage: High-purity metallic cobalt is an important material for the preparation of magnetic recording media, magnetic recording heads, optoelectronic devices, magnetic sensors, integrated circuits and other components. It can also be used as a semiconductor thin film material.
