Physical and chemical properties

Lead difluoride is lead fluoride, white crystal or powder. There are two crystal forms, and the orthogonal transformation is cubic crystal when the temperature is above 316 °C. Soluble in nitric acid, slightly soluble in hydrochloric acid, very slightly soluble in water (20℃, 0.065G/100ml), and in the presence of nitric acid or nitrates, its solubility can be increased, and it is insoluble in hydrofluoric acid.

Relative density 8.445 (orthogonal), 7.750 (cubic). Melting point 824 ℃. Boiling point 1293 ° C. Flash point: 1290ºC. Hydrofluoric acid prepared by reacting with lead carbonate or lead hydroxide. It can also be prepared by the reaction of ammonium fluoride or potassium fluoride with lead nitrate or lead acetate.

Application

1. Used as reducing agent, welding agent and desulfurizer. Crystalline lead fluoride can be used as infrared spectroscopy material.

2. Used as infrared spectroscopic material and synchrotron material, welding agent and desulfurizer.
