Copper (Cu) General Information:

It is reddish-orange in color with a melting point of 1,083°C, a density of 8.92 g/cc, and a vapor pressure of 10-4 Torr at 1,017°C.

According to the oxygen content and impurity content, oxygen-free copper is divided into No. 1 and No. 2 oxygen-free copper. The purity of No. 1 oxygen-free copper reaches 99.97%, the oxygen content is no more than 0.003%, and the total impurity content is no more than 0.03%; the purity of No. 2 oxygen-free copper reaches 99.95%, the oxygen content is no more than 0.005%, and the total impurity content is no more than 0.05%.

Oxygen-free copper has no hydrogen embrittlement, high electrical conductivity, good processing performance, welding performance, corrosion resistance and low temperature performance. The standards for oxygen content in different countries are not exactly the same, and there are certain differences.

OFC (oxygen-free copper): metallic copper with a purity of 99.995%. Generally used in electrical and electronic applications such as audio equipment, vacuum electronic devices, cables, etc. Among them, there are LC-OFC (linear crystallized oxygen-free copper or crystalline oxygen-free copper): the purity is above 99.995% and OCC (single crystal oxygen-free copper): the highest purity, above 99.996%, and is divided into PC -OCC and UP-OCC etc.

Single crystal oxygen-free copper manufactured using UP-OCC technology (Ultra Pure Copper by Ohno Continuous Casting Process) has no directionality, high purity, corrosion resistance, and extremely low electrical impedance, making the wire suitable for high-speed and high-quality signal transmission.
